Join local choreographer, Lacey Smith, for a celebration of dance, theatre and art, with live installations from her new work in progress, an excerpt from her solo work Unsettled Dust, plus exhibits by visual artists Rob Cousins and Richard Sturgeon. Proceeds will help support the completion of Lacey Smith’s new work for three dancers, set to premiere in 2013 right here in London, Ontario.

Lacey Smith / Dasein Dance Theatre
 
Lacey Smith is an independant dance artist and choreographer based in London, Ontario. In 2006, she graduated from Ryerson University with a BFA in Performance Dance with honours. Since graduating Lacey has successfully pursued a career as an independant choreographer. Some of her choreographic achievements include: Stille Nacht, a solo work presented at In a White Room (2006); Unframed Portraits, commissioned by Dance Ontario through their Creative Partnership Program (2007); Caught at and Kist, created for FLUX (2007), also presented at Art Harvest (2007); Beneath the Veil, commissioned by ProArteDanza for their Summer Intensive Program (2009); Broken Silence, a solo work choreographed for Art Harvest (2009); and Ancient Trinity, commissioned by the Palace Theatre and presented as part of Canadian Children's Dance Theatre's Wintersong (2009) and later at DanceWeekend (2010). Lacey was also the recipient of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreals first choreographic competition in 2008. After working with four of the company's dancers for six weeks, The Gaze, premiered at Agora de la Danse in Montreal.
